The Tri-Fold Has Some Good Aspects
1. Unmatched Screen Real Estate
Don't get me wrong – it is a 10-inch unfolded screen and it's very useful. Whether you're watching a movie, participating in a video call, editing a document or reading a lengthy article, it is easier to do so on this canvas than a regular phone. It can definitely be a substitute for a tablet for everyday use for those who travel a lot or work remote.

The additional screen real estate allows you to easily fit three apps side-by-side. 📝 My Hands-On Experience
I was able to get my hands dirty with the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, and have seen some footage of it in action, teardowns and early reviews to explore its features in-depth. What's really noteworthy outside of the spec sheet:
The move is nice, but requires two hands to open up. The tri-fold isn't like a phone you can open up at will, it requires an intentional opening and closing. This is not something you will be doing 50 times per day, but when you do it will be worth it.
The 10" size screen is indeed a handheld tablet. It's certainly a different experience looking at the video content on a totally opened up display without the "squinting" effect of having to look at it on a small screen.
Crease is very noticeable, but not enough to be distracting. There are two crease lines across the display when fully opened, due to two hinges. They can be seen in some light, but don't affect the usability like early foldables did.
The main camera, with a 200MP sensor, is a highlight. For the main sensor the quality of the shots is superb, with high levels of detail, sharpness and exposure in all situations even when the lighting is mixed. The performance of the telephoto is good and the ultrawide shows some softness on the edges.
Battery life is quite satisfactory. The cell is enormous at 5,600mAh and as per the energy proficient Snapdragon 8 Elite, a full day of use ought to be conceivable (even when utilizing the tablet mode).
Real-life test verdict: This machine is good for those who particularly require a big screen while travelling. It isn't to be recommended for everyone though, and for the right use case, there is no regular phone that can do that.
