In practice, having the chip should allow you to enjoy high or ultra graphics settings without any lag or throttling when using the chip to play a game. - Intelligent Document Scanner — automatically scan, OCR and format documents.
There are no hidden or buried features; these are features that are integrated into the apps that you use on a regular basis and therefore, they are actually worth using.
Display & The World-First Privacy Display
The top feature for 2026 will undoubtedly be the inbuilt Privacy Display.
The S26 Ultra is the first-ever device to feature an inbuilt privacy display. This is integrated into the panel itself, and doesn't work like a privacy screen protector which dims the light and adds bulk. Once switched on, the screen disappears from the side of the train — meaning the person sitting next to you on the train can't see what you are doing.
It can be programmed to only go off for certain activities, such as entering a password, sending messages or incoming calls, not all the time. This isn't a gimmick, it's a really useful feature.

Camera System
The camera system is the most compact for the S26 Ultra:
- Main sensor — 200 MP, Secondary sensor — 50 MP (ultra-wide / telephoto)
- The phone features a 12-megapixel selfie camera on its front.
In good light, the 200 MP main camera is capable of capturing the most extraordinary details. These are definitely clearer than past S Ultras with low light shots, and they're favored by the Snapdragon ISP as well as Samsung's AI-based processing pipeline. The wired 60W speed is quick, but slower than some of the Chinese rivals that are breaking the 100W mark. With such a big battery and an efficient 3 nm chip, though, you're not likely to be looking for a charger during the day.
🛠 My Hands-On Experience
Here's my personal, unbiased and honest first-hand experience with the S26 Ultra: what you won't find in a benchmark chart:
- There is significantly improved thermal performance. With previous generations of S Ultra, it was warm enough to feel while playing. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's 3 nm architecture is even cooler when it comes to a 45 minute gaming session.
- The Privacy Display is as it says. I tried to use it on a bus ride as my user, the person that was sitting next to me just couldn't see my screen when typing a message. The light emitted in privacy mode is not strong and won't be noticed at all.
- The S Pen latency is very low and imperceptible. It comes naturally to write notes. The pen tip does not appear laggy in relation to the ink's appearance on the screen.
- Practically quick charging is 60W. Connected at 22% battery level and reached 75% in around 32 minutes, which is pretty close to Samsung's 75% in about 32 minutes.
- The 200 MP camera is only intended to be used with a purpose. If the image is displayed in full resolution, then the image file size is large. For the majority of users, they'll experience faster processing speeds and 12 MP binned mode will yield them satisfactory results. Use all of the 200 MP for printing or heavy cropping.
- To avoid unnecessary rejection of calls, you should take advantage of the Phone app AI Call Screening feature right after installation. It blocked all spam calls that I had during my testing.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra isn't looking to be a hidden gem. It features a world first privacy display, the most powerful Snapdragon chip Qualcomm has ever produced, and a 200 MP camera system which will be accompanied by the S Pen in the box, and be protected by IP68 rated glass armour.
The S26 Ultra is worth every penny of its asking price if you are looking for the best Android experience, and you'll easily find it if you are in need of a dedicated note taker, professional photo taker or sensitive information handler in the public eye. For those looking to save without compromising on much, the S26+ is priced at ₹1,19,999, has 90% of the experience at a lower price but you won't get the S Pen, 200 MP camera and privacy display.
Purchase the Ultra if: you need the ultimate in performance, use a stylus or have a consideration for privacy in public. If budget is more important, and you don't need the top-of-the-range features, then consider the S26+ instead.
